And you've never heard these recordings sounding the way they sound in this 10-CD collection, CLASSIC SAVOY BE-BOP SESSIONS 1945-1949.

Classic Savoy Be-Bop Sessions 1945-49. The release of Charlie Parker’s Koko on the New York-based Savoy label in 1945 opened the floodgates for musicians keen to establish their modernist credentials. This fascinating and fiery 10-CD set of re-mastered 78s and alternate takes captures the burst of creative energy that ushered in modern jazz, and reveals the deep well of talent waiting to be tapped.

Savoy Bop Sessions 1945-49. During the two decades that followed the end of World War II in 1945, independent record labels flourished. Many of these micro labels succeeded by specializing in specific types of music that the more bland-minded giants-RCA, Columbia and Decca-largely ignored. In the process, these small labels wound up establishing beachheads for new music genres and cornering the market for the genres' best musicians and singers.

Mosaic - classic savoy be-bop sessions 1945-49 10-CD box set. Complete Savoy Be-Bop Sessionsis that it excludes Charlie Parker’s recordings for the label. That, however, is good news.

It reassembles an unreleased 1974 album, The Gouster, a preliminary version of Young Americans with three songs, though all have previously been reissued. Highlights include the earliest sessions by the tenor saxophonist Dexter Gordon and sparkling work by the trombonist J. J. Johnson, the trumpeter Fats Navarro and the baritone saxophonist Leo Parker.

This article lists Charlie Parker's Savoy and Dial sessions as leader, which were recorded between 1945 and 1948. Also included is Miles Davis's first session as leader in 1947, with Parker on tenor saxophone (Session 7). Charlie Parker's Reboppers. Recorded November 26, 1945, in New York City for Savoy Records. Thriving from a Riff" (. Meandering" (based on "Embraceable You").
