Summer Girl (2006) is the fifth album by Smash Mouth, and showcases a return to more of the pop/punk sound of the albums before Get the Picture? was released. Everyday Superhero" (featured in the movie The Pacifier and Zoom - as well as in advertisements for the final season of the TV show King of Queens, and in an America's Funniest Home Videos blooper reel). So Insane" (used as the opening theme for the movie Zoom).

This was an Independent release from Smash Mouth.

Smash Mouth is the self-titled third studio album by rock band Smash Mouth, released in late 2001. It is notable in that it was their first album with new drummer Michael Urbano and its release was delayed a few months due to the death of lead vocalist Steve Harwell's son, Presley Scott Harwell.

Smash Mouth's fifth studio album, originally to be titled Old Habits, was recorded in 2005 and expected to be released in early 2006. The band had said that the album was much more like the ska punk featured on Fush Yu Mang and The East Bay Sessions. In September 2005, the band performed what was tentatively going to be the album's first single, "Getaway Car", on Last Call with Carson Daly. Before the release of Summer Girl, drummer Michael Urbano left the band without warning on February 14, 2006 due to creative differences. He was initially replaced by former drummer Mitch Marine, and then by Jason Sutter, best known for his work with American Hi-Fi and the Rembrandts.

Smash Mouth have completed their fifth record, entitled "Old Habits" and are looking at a Summer 2005 release date. Recorded at Studio 880 in Oakland, CA with producer Jeff Salzman (The Killers, The Black Keys) and mixed at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, TN by Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Tom Waits), the new 12 song collection is fast and rockin', with an aggressive sound that harkens back to the band's multi-platinum debut "Fush You Mang". So Insane" is the second promo single from Smash Mouth's 2006 album, Summer Girl. Without a music video, or promotion, the single never charted on Billboard's Top 100; however, it did reach position No. 25 on the US Adult Top 40 chart.

It is/was their best album since Astro Lounge, but Summer Girl is just Smash Mouth being Smash Mouth. Give Your Opinion on Summer Girl. Staff & Contributors // Site Forum // Contact us. Bands:.
