Too Slim and the Taildraggers is an American blues rock band formed in 1986 in Spokane, Washington, United States. The band has had six albums peak in the top 10 of the Billboard Top Blues Albums. Members currently consist of Tim "Too Slim" Langford (lead vocals, guitar), Robert Kearnes (bass, vocals) and Jeffrey "Shakey" Fowlkes (drums). The band is located in Nashville, Tennessee, United States.

If Tim Too Slim Langford only played slide guitar, he would slither around most other blues guitarists and put a ferocious bite on their pride. However, as the sole six-string slinger, songwriter and lead singer of the power trio Too Slim and the Taildraggers, he is a total force of nature leaving musical tracks for others to try and follow. In 2013 Too Slim and the Taildraggers will release a new CD recorded in Nashville with Producer Tom Hambridge.

Fittingly, the album opens with the aforementioned sturdy cover of the Chambers’ Brothers classic, Time Has Come Today. It is almost unfortunate that a song originally released 52 years ago carries a message that still urgently needs to be heard here in 2018, but it does, and Too Slim and the band give it a fierce and sincere workout. This album stand out will likely be a centerpiece of live shows in the upcoming tour. Once again, the legitimacy that can only be earned from decades of gigging the planet, gives automatic weight to the sage road-dog advice and lament heard here. In a final smooth veteran’s move, Too Slim and the Taildraggers close out the collection in the same crafty way they started back on Trouble. Title track High Desert Heat is an unhurried song of subtle brilliance and understated confidence.
