Tommy Dorsey & His Orchestra. This is the first volume of the complete studio recordings of Tommy Dorsey as presented in the Classics Chronological Series. The first five tracks, relatively rare and gloriously instrumental, are worth the cost of the entire album. Four of these, recorded for the OKeh label in 1928 and 1929, feature "Tom Dorsey" playing the trumpet in the company of guitarist Eddie Lang with drummer Stan King and either tubaist/string bassist Jimmy Williams or pianist Frank Signorelli

Tommy Dorsey & His Orchestra. Tommy Dorsey - 1928-1935 {CC, 833}/20. Two Hearts Carved On A Lonesome Pine.

If like me you love these sides, this is a must-have, because you won't find this stuff elsewhere - except perhaps on RCA's mid-70s LP set of "The Complete Tommy Dorsey, vol. 1" for the 1935 sides - which is most of the CD. I compared this with that LP set, and to me the transfers sound identical, as if it was was easier for Jazz Classics to get hold of one LP set rather than all of the Victor 78s.

Frank Sinatra & the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra is a 1998 compilation album by the American singer Frank Sinatra. The three-CD set contains recordings from Sinatra's performances with Tommy Dorsey and his orchestra at the beginning of his five-decade singing career.
