Music from the Adventures of Pete & Pete is a studio album by the band Polaris, a one-off project involving members of the late 1980s and early 1990s band Miracle Legion. It features twelve songs composed by the band for the cult Nickelodeon television series, The Adventures of Pete & Pete. The album remains the only full-length release by Polaris. The album is dedicated to "Astrochimp Ham & Spacedog Laika".
Polaris is an independent rock band that was formed as a one-off musical project in the mid-1990s involving members of the New Haven indie rock band Miracle Legion. They were commissioned specifically to produce music for the Nickelodeon television show The Adventures of Pete & Pete, which was later compiled into the group's first and only album. Nearly twenty years after the show was cancelled, Polaris reemerged with its first tour and a cassingle of two new songs.

The prize was won by Caribou for his album Andorra. Unlike in prior years, the Polaris Prize committee did not release a compilation album of songs from the nominated albums.

About the album: After the release of Alvvays’ Polaris-nominated debut, singer Molly Rankin told CBC Music that she wasn’t sure anyone was really craving another 35 minutes of my voice. Not only did people want more from the Toronto band, but many embraced their sophomore release, Antisocialites, a record that we described as a break-up record written from the other side of survival.
Polaris is a quirky alternative music band that came about as a three year side-project, while members of the band Miracle Legion were in a legal dispute with (now defunct) Morgan Creek Records. Fans Will McRobb and Chris Viscardi, creators of the Nickelodeon show The Adventures of Pete & Pete, offered Miracle Legion a deal to write music for the show; members Mark Mulcahy, Scott Boutier, and Dave McCaffrey accepted and formed Polaris. The album was a shortlisted nominee for the 2010 Polaris Music Prize. The album was praised for its richly detailed storytelling, "staying on top of the Sadies' progress over the past decade has been a wild ride.
