The album features their breakthrough single "Light My Fire" and the lengthy song "The End" with its Oedipal spoken word section. The Doors was central to the progression of psychedelic rock, and has been critically acclaimed.

This soundboard recording captures The Doors on their final tour (with Jim Morrision) in 1970; this concert at Vancouver's PNE Coliseum on Saturday, June 6/70 would be The Doors only performance outside the United States that year. Place your vote on the list of Top 10 The Doors Songs. The End features the best of every member of the Doors. Jim Morrison gives his best lyrics with eleven minutes of philosophy mixed with weird psychedelic images and finishes it off by screaming about his mother. He delivers his greatest energy and most affecting feeling. Robby Krieger, Ray Manzarek and John Densmore invent a whole new type of psychedelic music that sounds like it comes from a different planet. The End is one of the most unique and surreal pieces of music ever written and is the Doors best song. One of the last Doors songs. For me second best song of the LA Woman album behind riders on the storm.

This is my 4th post, 3rd Doors release. Help me seed these so I can post more (there is no way I can keep the seeds alive myself).

The Doors released only six studio albums during their 1967-71 run, but each record left an indelible mark on the group's overall legacy. From their classic self-titled debut (home to the breakout and chart-topping hit "Light My Fire") to . Woman (which turned out to be their unplanned final LP), the Doors' catalog is filled with (mostly) indisputable gems.

The self-titled debut album of The Doors, this is generally considered a landmark album in the psychedelic rock genre. The album was released January 4th, 1967 through Elektra Records. The album was certified platinum by the RIAA, was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, and was inducted in the National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress in 2015 based on it’s cultural, artistic, and historic significance
