The Peel Sessions Album (Wire album). The Peel Sessions Album is a compilation album by English rock band Wire. It was released in 1989. It consists of nine recordings done for John Peel between 1978 and 1979. Graham Lewis – bass guitar, vocals. Robert Gotobed – drums. Bruce Gilbert – guitar. Colin Newman – vocals, guitar. Annette Green – photography. Don Walker – remastering. Vici MacDonald – sleeve design.

This is a list of artists (bands and individual musicians) who recorded at least one session for John Peel and his show on BBC Radio 1 from 1967 to his death in 2004. The first session was recorded by Tomorrow on 21 September 1967, and the last by Skimmer on 21 October 2004. After Skimmer's session, three further sessions that had already been booked before Peel's death were recorded: Bloc Party on 4 November, 65daysofstatic on 18 November and Sunn O))) on 9 December.

The group performed three times for the show between 1979 and 1980, and, in a way, this album gives a more rounded picture of the Ruts than their studio album does. For their first session, in January 1979, the band focused on a diverse group of songs, three of which would later appear on their debut album. Among these was a steaming version of "Babylon's Burning," the song that slammed them into the . Top Ten later that summer.
