Jon Hall, star of television and motion pictures, made this and a subsequent record for Mercury. As with some of the "Hawaii Calls" records presented by Webley Edwards, the liner notes do not list the performers. That is a shame, because the 5:22 version of "Quiet Village" (with bird calls) and the cover of "Hawaiian Cowboy" (with cow and horse sounds) are standouts. There is singing throughout, except "Quiet Village," and the final track, "He Alii," features yodelling.

This is a live follow-up to Jon Hall Directs Music from Honolulu by the famous star of television and motion pictures. On the Wing budget label, it could well be outtakes from the same session. Harry Owens' signature tune "Sweet Leilani" is performed in exotic style for a lengthy seven minutes. The singing on "Fish and Poi" and "Hawaiian Hospitality" nicely echoes Ed Kenney's nightclub style, and "Tematangi" seems to be the combo's exotic grand finale for this project.
