Love Is the Thing is a 1957 album released by American jazz vocalist Nat King Cole. It is the first of four collaborations between Cole and influential arranger Gordon Jenkins. Launching the charting single "Stardust", which peaked at the album reached on Billboard's "Pop Albums" chart and tied at on the UK Charts with the soundtrack for the 1956 film The King and I. According to the records of the RIAA, the album achieved gold status in 1960 and broke platinum in 1992.

I've seen a variant of this from the UK (and it doesn't match any of those from other territories). On the front his collar is white, not green. On the back cover, the name HOWARD MAYFAIR appears in the bottom left corner. On the labels, the words EXTENDED and PLAY are at either side of the push-out, and the rest of the design is slightly different - including, for example, the full name FRANCIS DAY rather than just F. DAY. Reply Notify me Helpful.

Love Is Here To Stay. Love Is A Many Splendoured Thing.

Love Is the Thing, a No. 1 album in the early LP era, is best known for Cole's rendition of "When I Fall in Love. The entire slate of Gordon classics is a fine affair, though, with "Stay as Sweet as You Are" a particular standout. The pinnacle of smoothness. EAC extraction logfile from 8. October 2007, 22:26.
