The Vegastones blatantly set out to dispel preconceptions: well, a band made up of two Australians and a Bulgarian can't really help it. While singer Tim Van Der Kuil and drummer Damon Wilson look fairly ordinary, it's the peroxide chic of bassist Svetlana Valeninova that sets the stage alight, a vision in tight pink trousers and white feather boa. Then the music begins. A heady mix of punk, pop and rock'n'roll, the Vegastones create polished chaos for the disenchanted, a slice of Americana romanticised in a way that could only come from outsiders. But it's Neko, from upcoming EP Easy Listening Does My Head In, with its thrash punk fuzziness, that is most intoxicating. Van Der Kuil charges towards Valeninova with his guitar, before turning to Wilson, who is still smashing the life out of his drums. Unsurprisingly, they're all smiling.

The album was created in two phases, the first in a traditional way of recording the rhythm tracks. The tracks were recorded in July 1980 at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas, the studio Chris Blackwell, head of Island Records, built to focus on Reggae and dub recordings. Some of the 80s most iconic albums were recorded there, including Grace Jones’ Nighclubbing, The B52’s debut, Robert Palmer’s Riptide and no less than the multi million seller AC/DC’s Back in Black. Ironically in an album so influenced by African rhythms, the least African sounding song is the one that deals with Africa in its lyrics.
Vegastones : Love Hotel. Never trust a band who put themselves in cute little pigeonholes - it often indicates a brittle foundation. This lot, for instance, lead us to believe that. Instead, on debut album ‘Love Hotel’, they cook up a kitsch groove that unwittingly reveals a lot of time spent in Beck’s Bordello penning Euro-lounge mini-anthems and thinking about sex (shops) a lot. Forget the artless musings of jumped up, stinking rich, rap-metal fucks in children’s baseball caps. This splendidly studied array of curio melodies and heartbeat-friendly rhythms is designed to lower values, to broaden parameters and to spread a little love, if not herpes.
Easy listening (sometimes known as mood music) is a popular music genre and radio format that was most popular during the 1950s to 1970s. It is related to middle-of-the-road (MOR) music and encompasses instrumental recordings of standards, hit songs and popular non-rock vocals.
Listening Wind Lyrics. Mojique sees his village from a nearby hill Mojique thinks of days before Americans came He serves the foreigners in growing numbers He sees the foreigners in fancy houses He dreams of days that he can still remember, now Mojique holds a package in his quivering hands Mojique sends the package to the American man Softly he glides along the streets. and alleys Up comes the wind that makes them run for cover He feels the time is surely now or never, more
